About Kathryn Ferguson
Kathryn Ferguson is a Belfast-born, award-winning director and documentary filmmaker based in London. She is also a Film Research Fellow at London College of Fashion, and her work spans documentaries, music videos, fashion films, and commercials.
Kathryn Ferguson reimagines storytelling by stretching the conventions of cinema verite through art direction, subtle humour, experimental visuals, and choreography. Her work is focused on creating more positive portrayals of women on screen and on telling stories about people who are often underrepresented in mainstream media.
Her films have screened globally on platforms including the BBC, Nowness, Dazed, and i-D. Kathryn Ferguson has worked with brands and artists including Nike, Amnesty International, Selfridges, Vogue, Air France, Girls Who Code, Dev Hynes, Neneh Cherry, Chloe, Sinead O’Connor, and Lady Gaga. She also spent several years as Selfridges Resident Film Director.
Her work has earned multiple awards, including a Gold Creative Bravery Award at the Kinsale Shark Awards for 25 Annoying Things and a Vimeo Staff Pick for Incredible Machines.
